The police of Norway arrested a citizen of its country as he is suspected in the illegal transfer of information to the employee of the Russian intelligence, as Reuters reported.

“He (the Norwegian man) was arrested in the presence of the intelligence officer,” PST spokesman Martin Bernsen said.

A Norwegian, whose name is not revealed, is suspected of harming vital national interests. He faces up to 15 years in jail.

The arrest of a spy took place in Oslo when the Russian intelligence officer held a meeting with him. The Russian spy was not detained. However, the police refused to report whether this person was a diplomat as it could become an obstacle for his arrest.

Arrested citizen of Norway denies any offenses as his lawyer stated.

Security police ask the court to arrest a man for four weeks.
