Norwegian defense minister Frank Bakke Jensen expressed concerns over Russia's aggressive behavior on the Russia-Norway state border. He said that during his meeting with his U.S. counterpart James Mattis, VG reports.
According to him, the government has been following the development of the Russian armed forces.
Jensen said the Norwegian military was 'especially alarmed' about the Russian drills held close to the Norwegian border.
'Over a fairly short period of time, Russia has deployed a lot of troops into the northern region of the country. Russian missile systems are spotted near the border, too. That causes a lot of concerns,' he said.
