North Korea threatened to mercilessly react to any provocation of the US after the reports that the United States could launch a preventive strike against the DPRK in order not to allow this country to conduct new nuclear tests.
The statement of the DPRK armed forces General Staff, promulgated on Friday, April 14, indicates that the North Korean army can launch preventive strikes on land, sea and air. The American military bases in South Korea and Japan, as well as the presidential residence Cheonwade in South Korea, which the DPRK army headquarters threatened to "turn into ashes in minutes", were named as possible targets for such attacks.
Observers believed that the DPRK can conduct new nuclear tests even before the celebrated on Saturday 105th anniversary of the birth of the founder of the North Korean state, Kim Il Sung. China - the main ally of the DPRK - expressed fear that the conflict over North Korea could break out "at any moment."
On the morning of April 15, the DPRK armed forces were assembled in Pyongyang to hold a military parade, which will be a demonstration of the strength of the country, reports AFP.
