Pyongyang (North Korea) promised to sink the USS Michigan nuclear submarine, which arrived in South Korea. This reports Yonhap agency with reference to the North Korean government media.
It is reported that DPRK recognized the arrival of American submarine as an act of military intimidation.
"The urgent transfer of nuclear submarine into the waters of the Korean peninsula, combined with the deployment of an aircraft carrier strike group, is intended to further activate military threats against our republic," the publication noted.
Also Pyongyang authorities stated that they are ready to attack it in case of a threat.
"At that moment, when USS Michigan will move from the spot, it will be doomed to the miserable fate of becoming an underwater ghost," warned the DPRK.
We recall, DPRK launched a ballistic missile test in the province of Phenan-Namdo. The tests were unsuccessful. According to preliminary data, the rocket exploded a few seconds after the launch.
Earlier, Xi Jinping, in a conversation with US President Donald Trump, said that the parties should avoid actions that could lead to increased tension in the situation with the DPRK.
Trump, in turn, said that he expected Xi Jinping that he would "work hard" on the DPRK problem.
