The North Korea conducted the test of a medium-range ballistic missile, apparently the Pukguksong-2 device; Yonhap news agency reported that with the reference to the South Korean military’s HQ.
An official from the Joint Staff said that the missile, launched from the vicinity of Pukchang in Pyeongannam-do province, flew at the maximum altitude of around 560 km.
Japan wants to talk through the launch of a missile by Pyongyang at the next summit of G7. Reuters reported that quoting Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan.
The last missile exercise by North Korea took place a week ago, May 14; the rocket "Hwasong-12" was launched back then. It was informed that it was the new type of ballistic missile and DPRK authorities were testing its capability to carry major nuclear warhead.
