North Korea successfully tested long-range cruise missiles. Yonhap reported that with a reference to North Korean state-run media.

"The development of the long-range cruise missile, a strategic weapon of great significance.... has been pushed forward according to the scientific and reliable weapon system development process for the past two years", reads the message by KCNA agency.

The missile tests took place on Saturday and Sunday, concluding two years of research.

In August, the UN Agency for Nuclear Energy claimed that North Korea rebooted the nuclear reactor at the R&D centre in Nyongbyon town, which became the basis for the nuclear program in this country.

In late March, North Korea launched missiles towards the Sea of Japan.
