Mike Pompeo, the U.S. Secretary of State, stated that Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea, was ready to present the programme, which could facilitate the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, as ABC News reported.
“We had an extensive conversation on the hardest issues that face our two countries,” Pompeo said.
According to him, he told the North Korea’s leader that the U.S. aim is a “complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearization".
“He (Kim Jong-un) prepared to ... lay out a map that would help us achieve, only time will tell if we can get that done,” Pompeo said.
Earlier, James Mattis, the U.S. Secretary of Defence, advocated the diplomatic decision on the denuclearization of North Korea.
