North Korea conducted unsuccessful ballistic missile test, it reportedly blew up over land. This was reported by CNN referring to the source in Pentagon.
The launched missile was probably the medium-range ballistic missile called a KN-17, according to US official, agency informs. This is a land-based solid-fuel missile fired from a mobile launcher.
The launch was conducted from Pukchang airfield, rocket did not reach the sea landing about 35 kilometers away from the airfield.
US President Donald Trump also reacted to the provocation on Twitter. "North Korea disrespected the wishes of China and its highly respected President when it launched, though unsuccessfully, a missile today. Bad!," US President commented.

The test was conducted several hours after US Secretary of State Tillerson urged UN to increase pressure on DPRK.
"All options for responding to future provocations must remain on the table. Diplomatic and financial leverage or power will be backed up by willingness to counteract North Korean aggression with military action, if necessary," he said earlier.
