The government-owned North Korean newspaper Rodong Sinmun today, on August 26, published an article accusing Washington of "guile" and "preparing a criminal conspiracy" against the DPRK. The publication appeared after the visit of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to Pyongyang unexpectedly was canceled, Reuters reports.

Negotiations between the countries on the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula have reached an impasse after the summit of the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump was held in June. The US, including Secretary of State Pompeo, insists on concrete steps towards denuclearization from the DPRK, while Pyongyang demands that Washington first make concessions.

The publication Rodong Sinmun in an editorial article states that Japanese-based American troops conducted aerial exercises, during which they worked out "penetration into Pyongyang".

"Such actions prove that the United States is hatching a criminal conspiracy to unleash a war against the DPRK and commit a crime that deserves merciless divine punishment if the United States does not cope with the scenario of the unjust and gangster denuclearization of the DPRK," the publication states.

At the same time, an American representative in Seoul said that he had no data on the conduct of the exercises, which are mentioned in the article.

We remind you yesterday, August 24, it became known that the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, postponed the trip of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to North Korea.
