Previously, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said that the meeting would happen late on Friday or on Saturday. Klimkin and his Russian counterpart Lavrov held a separate meeting in Munich, during which they discussed prisoner exchange and deploying a UN peacekeeping mission to Donbas.

According to Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, the negotiations were fruitless as they haven’t reached a consensus on a peacekeeping mission.

Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, however, said that they had a comprehensive discussion with Klimkin and discussed everything, so he didn’t even know if it was worth it to gather in the Normandy format.
