President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Normandy format meeting is already a victory, but he seeks to return with a concrete result. He stated this during the Freedom of Speech talk show.

“I want to return with specific things, with a concrete result. But we understand that we will not succeed in everything. The meeting is already a victory. We have unblocked it for 3 years, since 2016 there has been no dialogue, and therefore there was not even the opportunity to talk about ending the war. That's what I'm waiting for, what I'm looking for and really want to find," the president said.

Zelensky added he hoped for the support of other participants in the meeting. "I really want to believe that Germany and France will support us. And if something goes wrong, I will do everything for them to be on our side. Whatever it is, they say they believe that Europe supports Ukraine because we are right, "he said.

Earlier president responded to demands that the representatives of the European Solidarity, Golos (The Voice) and Batkivshchyna fractions indicated on the eve of the Normandy meeting.

“I really like that among this wonderful three of the new politicians like Petro Poroshenko, Yulia Volodymyrovna and Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, I like that they do not agree, it is the former president who does not agree with what he signed,”- Zelensky said.

The president also noted that the leaders of the factions should understand that no one wants surrender in the Donbas and no one wants to surrender Ukrainian territories.

As we reported, president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that they plan to hold elections in the Donbas in the autumn of 2020, together with the all-Ukrainian local elections.
