Nord Stream 2 is a big threat to Ukrainian energy security. This was stated by President Zelensky at a briefing broadcasted by 112 Ukraine.

"Nord Stream is a big threat to our energy security. Because we can lose transit money, and there’s about 3 billion dollars. My vision is that Nord Stream is a gradual lifting of sanctions," Zelensky said

The President emphasized that this is his subjective vision. He also stressed that the EU countries are helping Ukraine, for which Zelensky thanked them.

At the end of August, the Ukrainian guarantor said that the Russian Nord Stream 2 project was unacceptable and posed threats to all of Europe.

Earlier it was reported that Russia has moved to the final stage of laying Nord Stream 2.

Ukraine, Poland, the Baltic countries and the USA are actively opposing Nord Stream. They call on the European Union to block the project, saying that it is a "gas needle" that increases the dependence of Europeans on energy supplies from the Russian Federation.

In the case of the launch of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters per year, Ukraine will lose $ 2-3 billion in revenue from the transit of blue fuel through its gas transportation system, which is almost 3% of GDP. The commissioning of Nord Stream 2, estimated at 9.5 billion euros, is scheduled for late 2019.
