U.S. actor and director John Malkovich states that Hollywood apparently does not know much about Ukraine and the ongoing armed conflict there. He said this in his interview with TSN, the Ukrainian TV channel.
'Over these years, Ukraine has been a blind spot, as if someone erased it from the map. There are Trump and the Russian conspiracy reigning in the minds of the Holywood society, but there's no Ukraine there. No one wants to talk about it. I don't even know how much of the Hollywood cares about what happened here in 2014 and what's going on now,' Malkovich said.
He also said he had no illusions about the information breakthrough in this regard, because 'two billion people worldwide had no access to information'.
When asked about creating a movie on the war in Ukraine, the actor replied: 'You know, it's hard to do such a movie, and I'll bless anyone who does so. As for my participation, it will depend on the offer'.
The American actor, director, producer and fashion designer, Malkovich has appeared in more than 70 films. For his roles in Places in the Heart and In the Line of Fire, he received the Academy Award nominations.
