President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey has never recognized and would never recognize the illegal annexation of Crimea. He said it during the meeting with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, as the presidential press service reported.

According to him, the protection of rights, interests, and preservation of the national identity of the Crimean Tatars, their stay in the motherland in Crimea will remain the priority for his country.

Moreover, he stated the support of the Minsk process and activity of the OSCE SMM with the participation of the Turkish diplomats.

“We want the conflict in Donbas to end as soon as possible. We believe that it will be resolved peacefully, on the basis of international law and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. We support the Minsk process and the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission headed by Turkish diplomats," Erdogan added.

Earlier, Zelensky offered Erdogan to join the Donbas infrastructure rebuilding

As it was reported earlier, Ukraine's President arrived in Turkey with the first official visit yesterday on August 7. It stands to mention that there was a threat to the disruption of the meeting due to the escalation in Donbas.
