There are currently no reasons to disband the Ukrainian Parliament. Dmytro Razumkov, the Parliament Speaker said so during the evening show at 112 Ukraine TV channel on February 4.
"As of today, I personally see no grounds to disband the Parliament. I said this repeatedly, too. I understand there can be various discussions, but the Parliament has immunity for a year. If we're talking any questions that would let us dismiss the Parliament, I guess that's not the issue", Razumkov said.
Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada added that cutting the number of MPs from 450 to 300 would not affect the Parliament's work.
Earlier, the Ukrainian parliament preliminarily approved the decision to reduce the number of MPs from 450 to 300. The lawmakers also offer to add to the Constitution the norm of the proportional electoral system. This foresees that there will be no voting in single-constituency districts. Now, the Constitution Court will be considering these changes. The respective bill has yet to score 300 votes in the Parliament in order to be passed.
