The priority of Ukraine, the government and the head of the state is to restore the teritorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of the state. Petro Poroshenko, president of Ukraine said that as quoted by his press office.
'First of all, we should be understanding who we are facing. It's the totalitarian war machine, one of the biggest ones in the world, as it set itself a goal to complete the illegal annexation of Crimea. So the first thing we did... we managed to maintain the world's solidarity with Ukraine, and it facilitates the liberation of Crimea', he said.
Poroshenko promised that Ukraine would never bargain or go for some behind-the-curtain agreement with Russia, and Crimea would get back to Ukraine.
'We will do everything possible so that it is done as soon as possible, immediately after the presidential election. You heard Putin's repeated statements that they would not negotiate with us until the elections are over, because he very much hopes that someone else would be elected, instead of Poroshenko. He hopes that the new Ukrainian government crawls to him and gives him Crimea as a present. My position is they won't. We will release Crimea', he said.
As is known, the Ukrainian leader hopes for international support for his country, including the deployment of the UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.
