The management of NewsOne TV channel stated that there will be no We Need to Talk telethon with Russia24 channel - as it was supposed to take place on July 12.

"Our attempt to organize the playground for discussing non-political topics, by the efforts of common people, who never questioned Ukraine's territorial integrity, without politicians and politically fringe propagandists, led to a massive information attack launched by certain political parties", reads the channel's statement.

The TV channel reported that there were statements about arranging rallies near the TV channel's building. On late July 7, these statements were followed by threats to assail reporters and their families, the medium said.

We Need to Talk telethon was the project initiated by NewsOne and Russia24 TV channels. The event was to be aired on Friday, July 12.

"We consider human life to be the main and absolute dignity, which is why the issue of stopping the war, bringing peace and returning Ukrainian captives home should be the major question for a discussion among all Ukrainian media. Do the reporters have to live in fear for their families?", the TV channel asked.
