The new UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, plans to visit Ukraine in the near future. This was reported on Facebook by the first deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Herashchenko, commenting on the results of yesterday's meeting with UN Deputy Secretary General Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka.

"The UN Deputy Secretary General informed that the new UN Secretary General plans to visit Ukraine in the near future. By the way, he defined gender equality issues as key priorities of his work, " Herashchenko wrote.

In addition, Iryna Herashchenko noted that in July a new special representative of the UN Secretary General on combating sexual violence and crimes will be appointed, and one of the first visits of this commissioner will also be a visit to Ukraine.
