German Foreign Minister Heiko Mass during a meeting with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stressed that the new Ukrainian government deserves support in the field of reforms. It is reported by The Voice of America.

"... the new president and the new government deserve our full support in continuing the reformist course of Ukraine, and we are working with other Big Seven countries to achieve this goal," Maas commented on the results of his visit to Kiyiv, during which he met with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Maas stressed the importance of cooperation between Germany and the United States, including in matters of Ukraine.

"Many conflicts and challenges we are facing can only be resolved in coordination and cooperation with our American friends, and we intend to do that," said the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

“This is true in relation to Ukraine,” he added.

The head of German diplomacy believes that it is now very important to follow the events in Ukraine.

This is also true for the Minsk process. Progress is needed here. We have overcome obstacles here and want to establish cooperation at different levels, in the Normandy format, or at other levels as soon as possible,” said Maas.

He focused on the need for Russia to immediately take constructive steps, primarily in relation to Ukraine.

We recall, the foreign ministers of France and Germany, following a meeting with Zelensky, which took place on May 30 in Kyiv, declared their intention to continue to demand from Russia the unconditional release of Ukrainian sailors who are in a Russian prison.
