291 MPs voted for the appointment of Denys Shmygal to the position of the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Denys Shmigal is a former Vice Prime Minister and the Minister for Communities and Territories Development (since February 4, 2020) and former Head of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional State Administration, Deputy General Director for Social Affairs at DTEK ZakhіdEnergo, Director of DTEK Burshtynskaya TPP, acting Deputy General Director for Social Affairs at DTEK Zakhіdenergo.

Denys Shmygal was also head of the Chief Department of Economics of the Lviv Regional State Administration.

Who is Denys Shmygal?

As we reported earlier, today the Verkhovna Rada has accepted the resignation of Oleksiy Honcharuk from the post of Prime Minister and his government. 353 MPs voted "for" the corresponding draft resolution No. 3158.

An extraordinary parliamentary meeting is underway.
