The new contract on the transit of Russian gas across Ukraine is possible only if the sides refuse from any claims in this area. Gazprom company's press office reported that on November 6.

"This means mutual refuse from claims and the end to legal proceedings between Gazprom and Naftogaz Ukraine on the supply and transit of Russian gas, restoring the balance of commercial interests of sides", the message said. Gazprom added that Ukraine should also cancel the decision of the Anti-Monopoly Committee, which says Gazprom must pay fine for monopoly abuse at Ukraine's market of gas transit.

Aleksei Miller, the head of Gazprom discussed this issue with Georg Graf Waldersee, the German full-fledged envoy on gas transit across Ukraine.
