The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Ukraine talks will now include the newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk. Vereshchuk confirmed this on the sidelines to journalists, the online broadcast was conducted by the Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"It will happen on Wednesday, it will happen on Wednesday, next Wednesday, next week I will join the negotiation process. In what way - we'll see. We agreed with the President of Ukraine that I will take part, and then we will see my role and place," Vereshchuk said.
In addition, Vereshchuk announced her trip to Donbas. According to her, the trip will happen next week.
"I plan to go to Donbas next week without putting it off… Amalgamated territorial communities that are there, Civil–military administrations that are there, we have already met, for example, with the leadership of Luhansk region, have already outlined the problematic issues, and I sincerely hope that we will be able to go with the Prime Minister, and with MPs, and we will do our best to ensure that reintegration is not on paper, but in practice," the minister added.
At the same time, she clarified that first of all she wants to talk to people "who live there, who know best about the problems, who suffer from unemployment, environmental threats and who really have problems with paying for housing and communal services."
As it was reported, today the Verkhovna Rada appointed Iryna Vereshchuk Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. The corresponding decision was made by 260 votes.
