Hungary has entrusted authorized Minister for Cooperation Development between Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg County and Zakarpattia region broader powers and tasks than just cooperation. Interfax-Ukraine reported this, citing Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, the Vice Prime-Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine.
“Of course, we expect that the re-naming of the post is reflected in the functionality. But whether this functionality is really restricted to the cooperation between Ukrainian and Hungarian regions is unknown yet. I think that his powers and tasks, put by the Hungarian government are actually broader,” she said.
According to her, Foreign Ministry of Ukraine has created a post of the Commissioner for Trans-Border Cooperation and Mykola Baltazhi occupied it.
“He is responsible for the connection with Mr. Istvan Grezsa (Baltazhi's counterpart from Hungary, - 112 International), and the first meeting has already taken place. Now the ministry decides how to establish the communication mechanism.
As we reported, Hungary has changed the name of the post of “the Minister for Zakarpattya.” The decision was published by the Hungarian Justice Ministry on October 29.
