Both sides blame each other for opening fire from heavy weapons

Fights resumed on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both parties claim that the opponents used heavy weapons, Ekho Kavkaza reports with the reference to official sources.

According to Trend, which cites Azerbaijani defense ministry, Azerbaijanian soldiers destroyed Armenian anti-tank cannon and a mortar, responding to their armed provocations.

At the same time, Baku claims that the enemy's military units opened fire from mortats and artillery systems, shelling the units stationed in Lachinsky district.

Later, Azerbaijan blamed Armenia for large-scale provocation, as two servicemen of Azerbaijani army were wounded in the attack. Besides, Baku stated to have detained Armenian military men.

Yerevan does not comment on the detention of their servicemen. According to Armenian sources, the enemy uses artillery and armored vehicles.

Besides, Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan said that the government launched the procedure of requesting assistance from Russia. Yerevan asks for restoration of territorial integrity of the country.
