The talks between US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take place on the evening of December 7. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA-Novosti.
"Communication between Putin and Biden is scheduled for Tuesday evening," said Peskov.
According to him, the presidents of the United States and Russia will independently determine the time required for the conversation.
According to Reuters, the conversation between Biden and Putin will take place via a secure video link. The US President plans to discuss Ukraine and a number of other issues with his Russian counterpart. In particular, the American leader intends to express concern about Russia's military activity near the Ukrainian border.
Earlier, White House spokesman Jen Psaki said that the topic of Ukraine will become one of the central issues in the talks between the presidents of the United States and the Russian Federation. Biden also warned that he would not accept Russia's ultimatum over the invasion of Ukraine.
According to the American president, he is now developing a plan that will make it harder for Putin to invade Ukraine. At the same time, the US President refused to disclose the details of his developments.
