Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested Alexei Navalny for 30 days for participation in the protest of voters’ strike on January 28, Dozhd reports.

The oppositionist was found guilty of violating part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated violation of the rules for conducting the action).

Alexei Navalny was detained by Russian law enforcers.nearby his place and was delivered to a police department where he was kept until the trial.

The politician himself thinks that he was detained to prevent the preparation of the planned for September 9 protest action against raising the retirement age, which he is going to miss due to his arrest. The Moscow authorities did not approve the application of the supporters of Navalny.

Navalny was detained during the protest action on Tverskaya Street. The protocol was completed earlier.

Reportedly, Navalny was detained for 30 days in May for the protest action called “He is not our Tsar”, which was held in conjunction with the inauguration of Vladimir Putin.
