NATO to build airbase in Balkans

According to the Prime Minister of Albania, the investments of NATO for the first stage of the project will amount 58 million USD

Albania is intended to build the first NATO airbase in the Balkans in Kuçovë city. Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania claimed this on Facebook. 

‘North Atlantic Council endorsed the decision to build the first airbase in the western Balkans in Albania,’ Rama claimed.

According to him, the investments of NATO for the first stage of the project will amount to 58 million USD. He also added that Kuçovë city will be a base for the alliance in terms of the project, which is planned to be initiated in the end of 2018. 

‘Kuçovë city will serve as a national base for the Air Forces of Albania, and those strategical investments of NATO into Albania will improve out armed capacities,’ the Prime Minister claimed.
