The North Korean test of the hydrogen bomb is another blatant violation of several UN Security Council resolutions. This was stated on Sunday, September 3, by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, reports the headquarters of the organization in Brussels.
"I strongly condemn the sixth nuclear test conducted by North Korea today, which is another blatant violation of several UN Security Council resolutions, including UN Resolution 2321, adopted in November 2016," Stoltenberg stressed.
He said that NATO is concerned about the destabilizing behavior of Pyongyang, which poses a threat to regional and international security.
"The regime must immediately stop all existing nuclear and ballistic missile programs in full, and again start a dialogue with the international community," the NATO Secretary General said.
Stoltenberg urged North Korea "to respect its international obligations and to abandon all threats and actions that contribute to tension and danger."
