NATO positively assesses the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, but insists on the need to pay special attention to the reform of the Security Service and the defense industry. These were the results of the two-day work of the NATO-Ukraine Inter-Parliamentary Council, which was announced by NATO PACE Head Yegor Chernev on his Facebook page.
"One of the main topics was discussing the implementation of the Annual National Program. The partners positively noted the consistency of the course and significant progress in the implementation of reforms. However, they emphasized the need to pay attention to such critical issues as the reform of Ukraine's State Security Service and the defense industry," the official stated.
According to him, the Alliance also sees the need for effective parliamentary oversight of defense and security.
As we reported earlier, the delegation of Ukraine intends to continue its work in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), having abandoned the demarches, despite the approval of the Russian Federation's authority in the organization. This was stated by the head of Ukrainian delegation Yelyzaveta Yasko (Servant of the People party – 112 international.), European Pravda informed about it.
