In 2020, the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO will be held in Ukraine for the first time. This was stated by the first vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Tripartite Contact Group Iryna Gerashchenko on Facebook.
"Just received a text message from the chairman of our parliamentary delegation to the NATO PA, Irina Friz, with important and wonderful news: the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO will be held in Ukraine for the first time in 2020. The great job of our delegation of the NATO PA in Bucharest, where today this decision was taken," wrote Gerashchenko.
It should be noted that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is an interparliamentary organization of NATO member countries. The Assembly meets twice a year, legislators delegated by national parliaments on party quotas proportional to the representation of parties in parliaments take part in its work.
