President of the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO Madeleine Moon invited President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to visit the session NATO Pa during her visit to Kyiv. The session will take place in autumn in London as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“I invited President Zelensky to join the autumn session of the Parliamentary Assembly in London and we hope that he will appeal to the NATO PA lawmakers,” Moon stated.
She also said that two reports will be considered during the session. One of them will be about Ukraine and security issue. The second report will concern the sanctions used by Alliance states, including against Russia.
Earlier President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine would join NATO but only after a referendum.
Earlier, the Parliament sent the bill on amendments to the Constitution concerning the EU, NATO integration plan with 321 votes on September 20, 2018.
According to the bill, the President of Ukraine is the guarantor of the implementation of the strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO. In its turn, the Cabinet of Ministers provides the implementation of the strategic course of the state towards Ukraine’s full membership in the EU and NATO.
