"I received information from the NATO Mission to Ukraine that, at the end of March next year, 2020, a field meeting of the NATO Military Committee will be conducted at the Hetman Petro Sahaidachnyi National Ground Forces Academy and subordinate military units. For us, it is a big honor and a huge responsibility at the same time. The Academy staff has begun preparing for this the most important event of international cooperation between Ukraine and its Armed Forces in order to represent our country in dignity," he wrote.
The Military Committee is NATO's highest military authority, the main source of military consultation for the North Atlantic Council on Defense Policy and Strategy. The Committee is responsible for translating the political decisions taken by the council into military direction.
As we reported earlier, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO did not consider the Russian Federation an enemy. Stoltenberg told this in an interview with CNN.
"We do not create a list of enemies. We do not define Russia as an enemy. What we see is a more assertive Russia, which had used military force against its neighbor, Ukraine," NATO's secretary-general said.
Stoltenberg also noted that NATO is always trying to improve relations and does not “divide the world into either foes or friends”.
