The Allies agreed on mutual use of intelligence data and the joint monitoring of Russia's actions against Ukraine

Foreign Ministers of NATO member countries agreed on possibilities to introduce sanctions against Russia in case of the invasion into Ukraine. Jens Stoltenberg, the Alliance's Secretary General reported that during the briefing.

"We discussed the sanctions, political measures, and we saw readiness and capabililty to support economic sanctions against Russia when it's necessary", he said.

Stoltenberg added that the NATO countries exchange intelligence data about Russia's actions against Ukraine.

"The NATO allies agreed to jointly use intelligence data and conduct careful monitoring of Russia's actions against Ukraine. It gives us the necessary information, and we actively evaluate information and provide political and technical support for Ukraine", Stoltenberg said.

According to him, the NATO doesn't know Russia's intentions about Ukraine but the Alliance gets ready for the option where Russia could use military force against the neighboring country.
