A nationwide strike has been officially initiated in Belarus. This was reported by NEXTA.

It is noted that a march of pensioners and doctors will take place first. Chains of solidarity with the protesters are planned as well. Starting from 17:00 local time, drivers are supposed to start blocking roads.

The strike is an element of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's "people's ultimatum": according to it, Alexander Lukashenko, the country's incumbent president, was supposed to resign from the post, to release all political prisoners, and to cease all the violence against citizens.

As we reported earlier, the British streaming portal Netflix is filming a documentary about the political protests in the Republic of Belarus, which began after the presidential elections on August 9 and continue to this day.

"The British film crew has been filming the project for two months. The heroes of the picture will be demonstrators, the Coordination Council, and Svetlana Tsikhanouskaya herself. Filming takes place in Minsk, Kyiv, and Vilnius. Vyachorka also noted that the members of the film crew had already been detained," reads the message.
