Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleh Nemchinov stated that a nationwide population census would definitely take place in Ukraine in the near future. The minister said this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

According to him, the census is a complex and expensive procedure. To conduct it, both the epidemiological and financial situation in the country should be taken into account.

"There are two components: financial and epidemic. Financially speaking, this is an extremely expensive project. Preparations must begin in at least a year and a half, that is, if we wanted to start in 2023, we would have to start preparing in 2021. Speaking on the epidemic component – as far as I remember, there must be 150,000 people who will be carrying out this census. But it will take place, it is a government program, and it is in a rather prominent place," Nemchinov said.

As we reported earlier, according to the results of the previous census, the population of Ukraine in the controlled territories was 37 million 289 thousand people
