National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine will hold a session to consider the introduction of sanctions against citizens of Ukraine who are on the US sanctions list now. Oleksiy Danilov, the Secretary of the Council said so during the briefing.
"A separate decision will be made regarding every person [who faced the US sanctions]. Later, an NSDC session will be held, and the respective decision regarding these people will be made (...) We will not disclose any names", Danilov said.
According to him, there are nine Ukrainian citizens who got sanctioned in the U.S. for meddling in elections. There are also individuals who faced sanctions for cyber crimes and those who experienced ccertain restrictions under the "Magnitsky law".
"We've got 110 citizens who stay sanctioned in the U.S., which have to do with our territorial integrity. Our partners introduced sanctions against those who took direct actions in Crimea in 2014", he said.
Danilov added that there are 134 Ukrainians on the US sanction list; that includes even some citizens who are already sanctioned in Ukraine.
