In December 2020, investigators of the National Police of Ukraine received certain information about possible contractors of the murder of reporter Pavlo Sheremet in 2016. The press office of the National Police reported that on January 4.
"Documents and audiotapes, the latest of which date back to 2012 already ended up in the hands of investigation; these are interesting in terms of identification of contractors of the crime", reads the message.
Pieces of information are released via the Internet, The unidentified individuals discussed options and ways of killing Sheremet. Among others, they considered acts of poisoning and remote explosion.
The tapes released by Belarusian medium contain conversations of Vadim Zaitsev, the head of Committee of Security of Belarus in 2008-2012.
Pavlo Sheremet, the famous reporter of Belarusian origin was killed in Kyiv in July 2016. A remotely detonated bomb exploded under the seat of his car. The investigation is still underway.
