The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting has made some toxic decisions for which President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Office does not want to be held responsible. This opinion was expressed by the chairman of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Serhiy Tomylenko on the air of 112 Ukraine TV Channel.
In his opinion, the intention to dismiss the members of the National Council is caused by the fact that their term of office has expired but it is also about strengthening the influence on the media regulator.
"It is obvious that the issue of the state of current members elected under the quota of Verkhovna Rada in the current composition of the media regulator is overdue. In fact, the National Council made some toxic decisions, for which Zelensky’s Office does not want to be held directly responsible and the National Council, like the Central Election Commission, fulfilled its mission to a certain extent and now you can talk about a restart," Tomylenko said.
As we reported earlier, it's time for dismissal of the members of Ukraine's National Council on TV and Radio Broadcasting. Head of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada on humanitarian and informational policy issues Oleksandr Tkachenko said that during the conciliation board in the parliament, as the journalist of the UNN informs.
"We voted for amendments to the law about mandate extension of the members of the National Council. It is time about which my colleagues were talking about - to dismiss them," Tkachenko noted.
