National Bank of Ukraine under DDos attack

Critical infrastructure works as scheduled; the official site experiences certain difficulties

The National Bank of Ukraine suffered an external DDoS attack, reports the financial authority's press office. The incident occurred on June 17.

'Critical infrastructure of the National Bank works in the usual mode. That includes the system of digital payments used by the banks, the e-mail and the internal computer network of the National Bank', reads the message.

The official site experiences certain difficulties; currently, the NBU works to get it back on track.

In April, the cyber police of Ukraine launched a special operation “Pirates” to counter violation in copyright. Serhiy Demediuk, head of the Department of Cyber Police, said that pirates were not interested in providing citizens with free access to videos. Their main goal is to receive money for placing advertisements on pirate resources.
