The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) started an investigation against Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klitschko (Criminal Code of Ukraine, Article 366-1 – declaration of unreliable information). The Bureau checks the official for possible law infringement by the mayor.

According to the governmental agency, Klitschko might have not specified all of his real estate property in the digital declaration of incomes; some of his family members reside in Hamburg and Los Angeles, and these houses were not specified in the declaration. Anti-corruption fighters will be investigating the reasons why would the Mayor conceal that kind of information.

The Ukrainian law demands that officials specify both their own and their families’ assets.
