Mircea Geoana is expected to be in Kyiv on August 23-24. At this time, he will take part in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and speak at the panel discussion "Threats to the Azov-Black Sea region as a challenge to international security: consolidation of efforts and solutions."
On Tuesday, August 24, the official will take part in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence. On this day, a meeting is also planned with the Speaker of the Rada Dmytro Razumkov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Olexiy Reznikov, NSDC Secretary Olexiy Danilov and MPs.
Note that together with Ukraine, the Crimean Platform has 45 participants.
At the same time, yesterday the NSDC Secretary Olexiy Danilov said that under pressure from the Russian Federation, one country refused to participate in the Crimean Platform.
The Crimean Platform was initiated as an international coordination mechanism to return the issue of Crimea to the agenda, protect human rights in Crimea and promote the de-occupation of the peninsula.
