Military action in the disputed region continues, in spite of the agreement about ceasefire

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliev claimed that his army liberated another six inhabited settlements in Nagorno-Karabakh, which were occupied by Armenia. Aliev reported that on his Twitter page.

According to him, the villages are located in three districts of the disputed region; Aliev insisted that Karabakh is part of Azerbaijan.

Earlier, on October 14, Azerbaijani army took under control villages in two districts of Karabakh.

Prior to that, on October 10, foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan reached the agreement on ceasefire in the region; nevertheless, the military action continues.

The escalation in the area began on September 27, when the Azerbaijani side shelled settlements and military units in Nagorno-Karabakh. Then, the army units advanced in multiple directions; Armenian government claimed martial law.
