The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) opened the criminal proceeding due to the possible neglect of duty by fifth president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as Ukrainian News reported citing the NABU.
“The NABU detectives put the information to the United register of pretrial investigations due to the signs of such offense as neglect of duty,” the bureau reported.
The case was opened pursuant to the decision of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court, which obliged the NABU to begin the investigation. The criminal proceeding was registered on October 7.
Earlier, the ex-President of Ukraine did not show up for the questioning at the State Investigation Bureau (SIB) as SIB Director Roman Truba reported.
Besides, the Prosecutor's Office of Panama closed the criminal case against Petro Poroshenko, finding no reason to prosecute him.
