The newly elected members of Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation took the oath. The online broadcast was conducted by 112 Ukraine TV channel.

According to the procedure, the oldest MP, Yuliy Ioffe elected from the "Opposition platform - For life" party read the oath.

The text of the oath of the MP of Ukraine:

"I swear allegiance to Ukraine. I undertake by all my actions to protect the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine, to take care of the good of the Fatherland and the welfare of the Ukrainian people. I swear to abide  the Constitution of Ukraine and the laws of Ukraine, to fulfill my duties in the interests of all compatriots."
 


Until 13:00 the new MPs sign the text of the oath, and then gather for the next meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

“Dear Members of Parliament, the time for the signing of the oath on the proposal of the preparatory parliamentary group is continues to 13.00,” said Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation Andriy Parubiy.

Today the newly elected Verkhovna Rada gathered for the first solemn meeting.
