Iryna Vereshchuk, member of Servant of the People party claimed she was ready to chair the Defense Ministry if the president offers her to do so. She said so on air of Ukraine 24 TV channel.
"Such decision depends exclusively on the Commander-in-Chief, these are his authorities, and if the decision is made, it will be up to him. It's too soon to talk about this", Vereshchuk said.
However, when the reporter asked whether she would consider an offer to become the defense minister if there is one, the MP replied positively.
Currently, Vereshchuk is the head of parliamentary sub-committee for state security and defense, which belongs to the Committee for National Security, Defense and Resonnaissance.
President Zelensky considers replacing defense minister Andriy Taran and justice minister Denys Malyuska.
Earlier, Vereschuk ran for the office of Kyiv mayor; she lost to the incumbent mayor Vitaliy Klitschko.
