Yevhen Bragar, the MP from Servant of the People party could lose his parliamentary mandate - if he leaves the parliament faction. First Deputy Head of the faction Oleksandr Korniyenko said so on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel.
The politician said that so far, the MP did not file any appeals to leave the faction. "We've been discussing this issue inside the faction, and we'll discuss some more. Tonight (February 3, - 112 International), we'll have a minor session of the faction, and we'll discuss it there. It's a normal process of making a tough decision because formally, Yevhen did not violate anything.
Servant of the People party will choose what kind of sanctions could be applied against Bragar.
Earlier, Yevhen Bragar offered the woman to sell her dog to pay for the use of public utilities, as he spoke with the TV show's audience. Answering the question of a pensioner from the Kirovohrad region regarding how to live on a pension of 2 000 UAH (80 USD) and at the same time pay utility bills, Brahar suggested she should sell the dog if she has any.
“Living in these conditions is difficult, but we still do not know if she has any other property. [...] If there is a dog of the elite breed, then she can sell it at any time and easily pay,” the MP said.
Later, Servant of the People party faction claimed they disagreed with their colleague's point of view and apologized for his statement.
