Poroshenko and Tymoshenko leaders of vote-buying criminal cases

142 criminal cases have been launched since the beginning of the election campaign

The majority of criminal proceedings on vote buying are launched against presidential candidates Yulia Tymoshenko and Petro Poroshenko. Maksym Tsutskiridze, the Deputy Chief of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, said this during the session, as 112 Ukraine reports.

“21 criminal proceeding are launched because of the vote-buying attempts in favor of Yulia Tymoshenko, the presidential candidate, 16 criminal proceedings are launched against the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, two against Taruta (Serhiy Taruta, Ukrainian oligarch and wannabe prez, - ed.), one against Lyashko, Sadovyi, Zelensky, and Shevchenko”, the report said.

Tsutskiridze outlined that he declared the surnames deliberately, as they appear in claims, telephone messages and other sources of information used by law enforcement officers.

“15 criminal proceedings have already been closed, the information that law enforcement officers have received was not proved,” the Deputy added.

According to Tsutskiridze, 142 criminal cases have been launched since the beginning of the election campaign. 2,786 claims and messages were registered concerning the electioneering process.
