The Russian Federation plans to renew organized trips of the citizens of the territories uncontrolled by Kyiv to proper bodies in Rostov Oblast for forced passportization as Spokesperson of Defense Ministry Dmytro Hutsulyak stated citing Chief Directorate of Intelligence.
“According to the Chief Directorate of Intelligence of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine, the command of the Russian occupation troops renews the events on the forcible passport nation of the personnel of 1 (Donetsk) and 2 (Luhansk) Army Corps. Particularly, the commanders of the formations and units of the occupants specify date about the presence of the passports of Russia of the mercenaries among the local citizens and members of their families and information toward the provision of the documents by them get Russian citizenship,” Hutsulyak said.
“From the beginning of July, the command of the occupation troops intends to renew the organized trips of the mentioned categories to the departments on the migration of the Interior Ministry of Russia in Rostov Oblast, which were stopped in April,” he added.
April 24, 2019, Russian President Putin signed the decree, which simplified the procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship for the residents of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. May 1, he signed another document that extended the right to get the Russian citizenship under the simplified procedure for other categories of Ukrainians, including the natives of Crimea and their relatives.
On June 14, it was reported that the citizens of occupied Donbas began to get the passports of the Russian Federation. These IDs were registered in the simplified order in accordance with the April order of the Russian president.
Head of the EU Delegation in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli stated that the EU leaders will discuss the issuance of the Russian passports to the citizens of occupied Donbas soon.
