Andriy Paruby, the Head of Ukraine’s parliament, opened a morning plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. 349 MPs have registered in the hall and are present.
The 112 Ukraine TV channel is broadcasting the session.
At the beginning of today’s session, Petro Poroshenko Bloc representatives blocked the presidium and the tribune, thus trying to prevent the tribune from blocking by other political forces. As soon as the Head of the Parliament Andriy Paruby and the first Vice-Speaker Iryna Herashchenko entered the session hall, they were let to their seats at the presidium.
“In result of yesterday’s violation of parliamentary rules, several items of equipment were broken and the session was aborted. We stand for the parliament to function and the solutions to pass the parliamentary regime,” Oleksandr Bryginets, the member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, said.
As it was reported earlier, the lawmakers of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian Parliament, initiated debates, which turned into a scuffle in the session hall on Thursday afternoon, as the MPs considered the draft law on re-integration of Donbas.
The reason for the scuffle was that the document – specifically, Article 7, – contained mentions about Minsk agreement, which is supposed to solve Donbas conflict; certain political forces, such as Svoboda party and Radical party, protest against including this mechanism in the document.
