On the day of silence before parliamentary elections in Ukraine, the police received more than 570 reports on violations of electoral legislation. This is stated on the National Police website.

Most of all messages concern Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. Basically, these data related to illegal campaigning –396 facts and voter bribery — 16 facts. Investigation units initiated 11 criminal proceedings.

As of 18:00, 577 statements and reports were received about the irregularities in the electoral field.

We recall that Saturday, July 20 is the day of silence before the snap parliamentary elections in Ukraine. On this day, all sorts of election campaign are prohibited by the law, and the voters can make a choice free of any influence. 

The day of electoral silence starts at midnight on July 19 and lasts on July 20. 

132,500 employees of Ukraine’s Interior Ministry will provide law and order on July 21 on Election Day to the Verkhovna Rada as Communication Department of the ministry said.

“On election day, 132,500 workers of the Interior Ministry will be involved, including the operational presence of rapid response teams, special forces and for the first time, the united aviation security of the Interior Ministry. Moreover, we enhance control of the state border, firefighting and pyrotechnic detachments,” Arsen Avakov, the Interior Minister said.
